Design: Refurbishment
Project: Private House, Low Fell, Gateshead
Client: Dr A. Liston and Dr J. Liston
34 Church Road is one three linked properties being the remaining sections of John Dobson's fine Sheriff Hill Hall, originally completed in 1824. Its founder and owner died in 1856. By 1964 the property was owned by Gateshead Borough Council who, in 1967, instructed the Borough Architect to demolish the Hall, only one wing of which was retained. The original outbuildings have survived and now constitute 32-36 Church Road with No 32 being the original wing of the old Hall and a Grade II Listed Building.
Our work to the adjoining property involves the replacement and remodelling of the existing kitchen and the addition of a new en-suite to the master bedroom achieved by re-arrangement of the existing first floor bedrooms. The scheme also adds a ground floor WC. We are aiming to achieve all the works without any substantive change to the external appearance of the property.
On this project we are providing architectural services from Inception to Completion. We hope to submit a Building Control Application shortly.
Estimated value: £46,000 + VAT.
