Architect in the House - 2003
Every year the Royal Institute of British Architects in association with the charity Shelter promote this scheme to encourage clients to have a one hour consultation in their home or office in exchange for a minimum donation of £20 to Shelter.
The RIBA co-ordinates the public's response and refers you to a participating Practice, usually within five miles of your home or office. All RIBA members participating in the scheme are RIBA Registered Practices. We are such a Practice and have participated for several years. Each year we undertake an increasing number of visits. In 2003 we travelled as far as Northallerton, Guisborough and Redcar!
During 2003 the RIBA raised over £100,000 for Shelter; some 7,500 Clients and over 900 architects were involved. JPA visited 83 homes and contributed £2,300 to that total and were one of the top two fund-raisers in the UK.
We are always happy to meet prospective clients for a preliminary meeting without obligation. Please contact us here to discuss your project and help us to increase the funds raised for Shelter.
