UPDATED 17 April 2015

2014 was a busy and interesting year, with Instructions from new and existing
Clients throughout the UK. We hope 2015 will be as interesting! We now have two projects on site and two more about to
begin construction. We recently succeeded in securing planning permission for a substantial commercial development in the Green Belt near Wylam, and have been invited to examine another sensitive planning application in south west Northumberland. Other interesting projects include assisting a large UK plc Contractor with the technical development of a signature educational project in the north-east; and, a technical market investigation for one of the UK's largest manufacturers of thermal insulation.

We continue to act throughout the UK as expert advisers and building pathologists. In September we assisted Clients in the successful resolution of a dispute concerning allegations of negligent design and water penetration to a building in Whitley Bay. We are also advising upon a building defect involving cracking to the lining of a private swimming pool in Hampshire. Other matters include investigation of two separate roofing projects in Durham, both involving negligent design and defective construction. We have also completed an investigation into defective re-roofing in Milton Keynes, and we continue to assist insurers in respect of a dispute concerning a building in Biggin Hill. Finally, in December we were asked to act for a Contractor in respect of a roofing matter in the north east.

Our longstanding commitment to the 'Architect in the House' scheme continues and, following the withdrawal of both the RIBA and Shelter from the Scheme, we are now working with the Save The Children Fund to assist prospective Clients and to raise funds for this most worthy Charity. So far our efforts have raised over £20,000. To discover more about our services, and about Architect in the House, read on!
